New Living Room Extended From The Kitchen

Our client wished to extend their detached home in Carlow. A large and bright space was required to extend the kitchen. They initially explored the option of a traditional extension but with a minimum three month build time and at an exorbitant cost, they opted for a Brightspace Sunroom, which could be built in four weeks at half the cost.

Design Solution

We designed a 20sqm sunroom leading from the kitchen. Large picture windows were included to enjoy the great views of their beautiful garden.

The window and wall of the house would be knocked out to seamlessly integrate the new sunroom with the internal kitchen to create a large living area.

Because the sunroom was to the side of the home, it required planning permission.

We assisted our client through the planning process.

We knocked out the window and wall to create access from the kitchen into the sunroom.

White frames and a low wall were chosen to give the sunroom a contemporary feel.

Four large picture windows were included to maximise the view into the garden.

Corner pillars were built to create the look and feel of a traditional extension. Three white roof windows were chosen to create a bright room without taking light from the existing kitchen.

Build time was four weeks as promised.

Another fine example of a Brightspace contemporary sunroom, built on time and within budget.
